We are currently looking for a Part-Time Employment Coordinator to join our team at YESS!

Job Summary
This individual will assist youth in accessing and maintaining employment opportunities. The candidate will have a history of professional development, ideally having a background in the Child and Youth Care sector, the ability to work independently and in teams, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Develop complete work experience programs for youth
  • Identify skills and needs of youth to create individualized employment plan
  • Create cover letters and resumes for youth
  • Coach youth in interviewing skills, and give advice on best practices in staying employed
  • Develop training for youth in job searching skills
  • Identify scholarship and training opportunities and share with youth
  • Provide on-going support for the youth by ensuring one-on-one time with youth on a weekly basis
  • Maintain positive relationships with current employment providers of the youth
  • Collaborate with Revenue Development and Communications and the Management team for employment relations and connection opportunities
  • Ensure all paperwork and processes are in order, to enable youth to participate in the employment program
  • Coordinate computer lab availability to assist youth in employment training opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for youth and assist them to self-advocate
  • Promote the Agency in a positive manner to the outside community
  • Participate in fundraising activities as required
  • High School Diploma
  • At least one year of Professional Development experience
  • Child and Youth Care experience would be considered an asset
  • Prior not-for-profit work experience is considered an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
Other Requirements:
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Criminal Record (CRIM) and Child and Youth Intervention (CYIM) checks that are no more than six (6) months old.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (at least $ 1 million third party liability).
