We are currently looking for a Full-Time Client Navigator to join our team at YESS!

Job Summary

This individual will act as an advocate for youth, assist youth and families to access available resources, and support clients as they transition out of our programs. Ideally, this candidate will have a strong ability to build relationships, be resourceful and self-directed, and desire to advocate for and empower youth.



  • Provide day-to-day support for clients
  • Accompany youth to referred services and appointments as required while providing support
  • Work with and act as an advocate to other systems in the youth's life such as Justice Court, Children's Services, etc.
  • Advocate on behalf of youth and families
  • Coach and provide role-modeling and informal counselling to clients to develop self-advocacy skills
  • Participate in transition planning prior to discharge from YESS Supportive Housing programs, and help clients move in and settle to new accommodation
  • Provide information and referrals to Youth and Families to assist them with access to community resources
  • Receive and record brief service reports (walk-ins and phone calls) and determine an action plan
  • Research, compile, and maintain a community resource directory that can be used by staff and youth
  • Create and maintain a positive and safe environment for the youth
  • Work collaboratively with other agency staff and contribute to team activities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community members and other social Agencies


Other Duties Include

  • Promote the Agency in a positive manner to the community
  • Participate in staff training as required
  • Assist with fundraising activities when available 



  • Diploma or Degree in Human Services or related field
  • At least two- year experience in a Child and Youth Care setting 
  • Knowledge of resources in Edmonton and area is considered an asset
  • Prior not-for-profit experience is considered an asset


Other Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Criminal Record Check (CRIM) and Child and Youth Intervention Check (CYIM) that are no more than six (6) months old
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (at least $1 million third party liability)
